Lake Cumberland
Lake level: 682
Lake Surface temperature: 81 degrees F.
Striper fishing has been good in the lower lake between the dam and
Jamestown. Most stripers are suspended near the mouths of major creeks
or along the main lake shoreline. Try drifting alewives or gizzard shad
30-35 ft deep on down rods or planer boards.
In the tailwater, sluice gate releases and mild weather are keeping the
water temperatures below 60 F. Trout fishing has been pretty good with
most fish being caught on salmon eggs and power bait. Casting or
trolling small crank baits such as rebel crawfish or countdown rapalas
have also picked up some fish.
