About us
Kentuckyfishing.com launched unofficially just a few months ago. But in many ways it was born in 2002 when we started The Kentucky Fishing Journal, which soon became The Kentucky Outdoor Journal.
Those printed magazines were a love affair – both with outdoor journalism and the outdoors. It was with heavy hearts that we were forced to cease publication just a few years after we started them.
One bright spot since then? We never stopped hearing from a group of loyal readers who loved the magazine and wished it were still around. Here’s to you.
Our goals online are the same as they were in print: to celebrate fishing and offer an expansive guide to fishing in this great state.
Over the next few weeks and months, be sure to keep checking back for all kinds of stories, pictures and video about fishing in Kentucky. We don’t care what you fish for. We’re not exclusive. If it swims, we’ll try to write about it.
Better yet, use the tool on our home page to subscribe to www.kentuckyfishing.com. Any time we write something new about fishing in Kentucky, you’ll get an email with a link to go read the story if you want to.
Also look for us out on the water. We’ll try to hit as many spots as we can in the coming years, and share with you what we learn.
When we printed the magazines a few years ago, a friend sent in a subscription check and slipped in a note about his new baby and how much he was looking forward to taking her fishing someday. But with childcare and work, he knew it would be a few years.
In the meantime, he said, “If I can’t be out fishing, I’d love to be reading about it.”
So it is with that in mind, and no small amount of pride and satisfaction, that we present you with Kentuckyfishing.com, a resource for fishing in Kentucky.
When you’re not out fishing, we hope you’ll hang around online here with us.
Sincerely,
Chris Poore
